About Me

In the late 1990's, Jane discovered Conflict Theory in her Sociology Ph.d program at the University of Chicago. She became a certified mediator through Chicago’s Center for Conflict Resolution, and mediated cases ranging from gang crime to eviction to human rights issues.  In 2002 Jane became one of the first two State mediators for the Illinois’ Department of Human Rights, where she spent the next several years mediating cases involving allegations of discrimination and harassment.  In order to broaden her reach into organizations facing challenges with conflict, she became a certified Coach through Coach U, the organization that launched the International Coaching Federation.  Jane also holds certifications in the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, and the Strong Interest Inventory.
